"Knowledge is going to make you stronger. Knowledge is going to let you control your life. Knowledge is going to give you the wisdom to teach their children. Knowledge is the thing that makes you smile in the face of disaster."
-- Avery Brooks
Tourism is one of the most exciting and progressive industries in the twenty-first century, and there are many factors which can affect this multi-billion dollar industry. In this blog I would like to discuss the impact of natural disasters on tourism.
A natural disaster can be defined as some impact of an extreme natural event on the ecosystem and environment, and on human activities and society. Natural disasters are a hugely unpredictable and meaningful event, and when they do strike, often do they bring enormous consequences. There is a very close link between natural disasters and tourism. In the wake of a natural disaster, tourism is significantly and negatively disrupted.
So, every week I will talk about different disasters and explore its effects based on real examples.
1. Weather disasters
2. Water disasters
3. Land movement disasters
4. Health and diseases
